By Sue Breland

The Texas Certified Public Manager (CPM) Program Graduation was held on Friday, December 13, 2024, in the Capitol Auditorium at the Texas State Capitol in Austin, Texas. A reception for the graduates and their guests was held in the Legislative Conference Room of the Capitol Extension.

Dr. Miha Vindis, Director of the Texas CPM Program welcomed the graduates and their guests and introduced Mr. Alex Meade to deliver the graduation address. Meade has over two decades in both city management and economic development. He currently serves as the executive vice president of Texas Regional Bank, managing policy strategy and economic development. Mr. Meade is also a distinguished alumnus of the CPM Program in Edinburg. His message emphasized that we must never forget that our unwavering aim is to serve the public, no matter how challenging. In doing so, we can lead from any level regardless of our title, we should treat those we work with whether higher or lower on the organization chart with respect and keep the long-term vision while others work on short-term objectives. Staying relevant and humble will help you make the community in which you work a better place to live for all. You can view the graduate address at https://txst.yuja.com/v/GradSpeaker12132024
